Dawn
Between the dark and the light of the morn
The day it breaks and is newly born
Sunlight filters through the mist
Reflecting in the rivers`s twist
The birds awake and fly the nest
As the sun tracks slowly from east to west
The spider spins it`s fragile web
As yawning people rise from beds
The city bustles all around
As life returns to silent towns
Darkness is banished for awhile
As the shadow creeps across the sundial
Though to yesterday I still cling
I wonder what today will bring
Happiness or pain or sorrow
Ask me when we meet tomorrow
