Yeah yeah
Well
Does anybody know where my glasses have gone
I had them on my nose when I wrote this song
They`re small and round and made of glass
Tell me people do you know where they`re at
Does anybody know where my glasses have gone
Well I can`t drive a car I can`t read a book
If I could see, I`d take a look
I took them off when I went to sleep
And they could have been stolen by a goddamn Thief
Does anybody know where my glasses have gone
Well I called up my brother and my sister too
I said „I`m singing this tale of woe to you“
They said „Maybe you lost them on the street“
Or maybe they`re right there under your feet“
Well we sure don`t know
Where your glasses have gone
Well I got up to put on my clothes
But I can`t see further than the end of my nose
I maybe left them in the car but I can`t see
Far enough to find the key
Does anybody know where my glasses have gone
….Harp solo....
Well I went to the Policeman, I said to him
I can`t see a goddamn thing
He said „We`ll send you out the Murder Squad“
But Son they got more important jobs
Well I sure don`t know where your glasses have gone
Well I got home and sat on my Ass
And there was the sound of breaking glass
I`ve found my glasses but I can`t put them on
`Cos they`re Bent and Broken
And thats why, I wrote this Song
Does anybody know where my glasses have gone
I had them on my nose when I wrote this song
Well they`re small and round and made of glass
Tell me people do you know where they`re at
Does anybody know where my glasses have gone
Man talking in the Background.....
Now come on you gotta help me everyone
I can`t see a Goddamn thing
You seen my Glasses?
I put them down here somewhere
I been looking everywhere for those goddamn glasses
I
The Glasses Song
I have a friend who is almost blind without his spectacles. He is a bit of a Music Freak and travels around to live concerts whenever he can. Many years ago we had been out and about checking out the Music and had returned to his place."Has anyone seen my glasses?" he asked.
Quite a while, into the small Hours of the morning, was then spent revisiting the places we had been in a search of the missing glasses - all to no avail.
We got back to his place and as he sat down in an Armchair there was a crack and the Sound of Breaking glass. We had found his Glasses!
Years later I too need reading glasses and can now appreciate just how frustrating it can be when you lose your Glasses!
