There is no glory in war
Back to List
There is no glory in war
To boldly go where maybe none have gone before
bringing death, destruction and pain
To innocents, caught up in the game
who have no way to flee the flames that burn and kill
There is no glory in war.

There is no glory in war
The death, the pain, the gore
The fear of being killed or maimed
Or never to return home again
There is no glory in war.

There is no glory in war
to see the blood of children stain the earth
unnecessary sacrifice with little worth
for dollars, oil and power
To feed the rich in their ivory towers
There is no glory in war.

There is no glory in war
To come home with pictures in your head
of friends, comrades or strangers dead
That give no peace and no respite
and come to haunt you in the night
There is no glory in war

There is no glory in war
For things have changed that cannot be seen
You are no longer the one you have been
The twisting, turning pain inside
makes you ask the question why
did I not also die
There is no glory in war.

There is no glory in war
The metal trinkets, worthless now
hidden deep so no one sees
to ask, where did you earn these?
and why?
There is no glory in war.

There is no glory in war
The lies continue as before
Oaths and duty, codes of honour
Blank out and justify the horror
and twist the truth to suit the lies
Propogated by men in ties
Who have no fear....for they have never been here.

There is no glory in war
