Words Unfettered
A Blank page before me
Words swirling across my field of vision
Write them or not?, such indecision
Give them wings and send them out into the ether
Knowing that once freed they are unfettered
and can never be recalled
The Musings of a savage mind
Some memories better left behind
To write them down upon the paper
Somehow eases the beast within
and calms the brain
Words have wings as someone said
And will remain when we are dead
A mark upon the mists of time
That may someday outwardly shine
A memory, triggered by a phrase
May cause someone to shift their gaze
And read the words upon the screen
Written by a soul unseen
And so I write, as others do
Await no praise or condemnation
for the words that spill unfettered
and maybe one day far away
Someone, somewhere will read them.
